Fortinet Security Fabric in Stock: FG-101F, FS-448E-POE, and FAP-231G

The FG-101F can serve as the enterprise security gateway, the FS-448E-POE provides 48-port PoE+ access, and the FAP-231G provides tri-band Wi-Fi 6E. FortiGate Switch Controller and FortiAP management bring security policy, wired switching, and wireless networking into a coordinated Fortinet architecture.

Centralized management does not mean the equipment is ready for production as soon as it is connected. The FortiOS, FortiSwitchOS, and FortiAP compatibility matrix must be checked, followed by design and validation of VLANs, SSIDs, guest and IoT networks, management segments, FortiLink, HA, and uplinks.

The FG-101F includes a 480GB SSD for local log retention. Interfaces include 22 GE RJ45 ports, four GE SFP ports, and two 10GE SFP+ FortiLink ports. Built-in redundant AC power suits SMB and branch environments requiring multiple physical interfaces, 10G uplinks, VPN, and local event records.

Fortinet lists maximum firewall throughput of 20Gbps, IPsec VPN throughput of 11.5Gbps, NGFW throughput of 1.6Gbps, and 1.5 million concurrent sessions. These are platform figures under defined test conditions. Real capacity varies with FortiOS, packet size, SSL inspection, IPS, application control, and traffic mix, so sizing must reflect the security functions that will be enabled.

The FS-448E-POE provides 48 GE RJ45 PoE+ ports and four 10GE SFP+ uplinks, with a maximum total PoE budget of 421W. It can power FortiAPs, IP phones, cameras, and other 802.3af/at endpoints, while FortiGate Switch Controller supports centralized administration.

The 421W rating is the switch-wide PoE budget; it does not mean all 48 ports can simultaneously deliver maximum power. Deployment planning should total normal and startup power for every endpoint, retain headroom, and confirm optics, DACs, VLANs, and uplink topology.

The FAP-231G is a 2x2 MU-MIMO indoor Wi-Fi 6E AP with three radios for 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz, plus dual-5GHz deployment support. Connectivity includes one multi-gigabit RJ45 port supporting up to 5GbE and one GE RJ45 port, together with BT/BLE, USB Type-A, and an RS-232 console.

It can be powered by 802.3at PoE directly from the FS-448E-POE and includes ceiling and wall mounting hardware. Fortinet warranty coverage for these FAP-231G-T units has expired; the transaction is for asset transfer only. Serial number, condition, and delivery terms are confirmed before purchase.

This combination suits environments refreshing their edge firewall, PoE access switch, and enterprise Wi-Fi at the same time. VLANs, SSIDs, guest access, IoT segments, and security policy can be designed together, reducing the operational overhead of fragmented multi-vendor management.

Organizations with an existing FortiGate can purchase FortiSwitch or FortiAP separately. For a new office, branch, or full refresh, Server Plus first reviews users, endpoint count, Internet bandwidth, VPN, wireless coverage, PoE demand, and resilience before confirming quantity and topology.

The units are nearly new and retain their original packaging. Fortinet asset transfer can be requested according to device and account eligibility. Transfer, subscription continuity, and FortiCare rights remain subject to serial status, the original account, the buyer account, and Fortinet approval.
