Calculation basis

Gross profit = goods price before tax − cost before tax. Gross margin = gross profit ÷ goods price before tax.
Base price before tax = cost ÷ (1 − target margin). Enabling markup or a premium changes the actual margin.
Fees apply to tax-inclusive goods only, excluding shipping and the fee itself. Buyer fees are added to the total; seller fees reduce profit.
Buyer shipping is passed through at cost and uses the same tax rate as the goods. Seller shipping reduces profit. Profit after fees excludes other operating expenses.
