64 Cores and 512GB in 1U: Four HPE DL325 Gen10 Plus Servers in Stock

Expanding a virtualization host requires both processing resources and memory. This Server Plus shipment of HPE ProLiant DL325 Gen10 Plus servers combines one AMD EPYC 7702P with 64 cores and 128 threads, plus 512GB DDR4 ECC, in a 1U chassis. It offers a refurbished option for businesses consolidating existing hosts, adding virtual-machine capacity or deploying compute nodes.

Plan Core Count and Memory Within the Same Procurement Budget

CPU capacity is not always the virtualization bottleneck. When many VMs run concurrently, limited memory can constrain consolidation density. A 512GB configuration provides more room to allocate applications, test environments and infrastructure services. A single 64-core CPU also supports consolidating concurrent workloads into one 1U host.

The procurement value of refurbished equipment is the opportunity to budget for compute, memory, storage and redundancy together. VM capacity must still be sized from individual requirements, peak demand and reserved headroom. The 128 threads are not 128 physical cores, and per-core software licensing must be included in cost planning.

Virtualization, Containers and Concurrent Enterprise Services

This configuration provides a starting point for the following environments. Before production deployment, firmware, drivers, storage and network-adapter compatibility are checked against the intended system version. Software licenses and subscriptions are confirmed separately.

  • Proxmox VE / VMware virtualization: consolidate enterprise applications, development, testing and infrastructure services
  • Kubernetes / containers: plan worker nodes and multiple service deployments
  • Databases and enterprise applications: size resources against data volume, query patterns and storage latency
  • Clusters and parallel computing: plan multiple nodes, networking and failure redundancy for the workload

Confirm Disk Access Before Planning Ceph or ZFS

These units include a P408i-a RAID controller for conventional hardware RAID planning with the selected drives. Ceph and ZFS instead need direct access to physical disks; storage pools should not simply be built on hardware RAID logical volumes. Controller mode, firmware and backplane must be checked first, with a compatible HBA configuration substituted where necessary.

These servers can therefore form the basis of cluster-node selection, but CPU and RAM alone do not constitute a complete Ceph solution. Drive endurance, system and data disks, network bandwidth, replication policy and capacity remaining after a failure all belong in the quotation and deployment plan.

Four Units Available: Confirm a Complete Deployment Configuration

Server Plus helps verify drive types and capacities, network interfaces, power supplies, rails and accessories, along with testing, warranty and delivery terms. The goal is not simply a high-spec host: CPU, memory, storage and networking must work together for the actual workload.

Enquiries are welcome for individual units or a multi-node deployment. Provide the intended use, quantity, storage capacity and network requirements so sales can confirm remaining stock and a quotation.

FAQ

Are drives and high-speed network adapters included?

The confirmed specifications are EPYC 7702P, 512GB DDR4 ECC and P408i-a. Drives, network adapters, power supplies and accessories will be checked item by item before quotation. Unlisted items are not assumed to be included.

Can the supplied RAID configuration be used directly for Ceph?

Disk passthrough and controller compatibility must be checked first. Ceph should access physical disks directly; a conventional hardware RAID logical-volume configuration is not a complete Ceph solution. A compatible HBA may be required.

Can the four servers be purchased individually?

Enquiries can cover one or multiple units. Four is the shipment quantity; remaining availability, reservations and delivery timing are confirmed by sales.
